Did I ever think I'd take on acting roles? You know what? I kinda have. I wasn't planning to truly reach out to many opportunities though, as I am focusing on getting tha bills paid with my camera. However, an outcome of networking on social media has given me the chance at other dreams.
“Would you be at all interested in being in front of the camera and acting in a role in A Christmas Carol instead?"
Director Rose Kreider asked.
Please excuse the poor image quality. My iPhone's wide lens is damåged.
How did I get over the nervous time it took me to make a decision? I had to hype myself up, talk to my boyfriend, my mom, and a couple film friends about it. Two house later, I felt fine. Haha. The lines assigned to my role were not that complicated. It was a matter of memorizing my pace in back and forth banter between the other characters, and trying not to forget my lines. Which did happen a couple times. I also switched around some phrasing a bit, but eventually got it down.
I was surprised to realize that DP Raymond Parsons had posted about this set some days ago.
I was happy to see a familiar face on this set that day. It's always great working with Raymond. We worked together on Bhairav Valera's film, Acrylic, early 2023 staring Michael Muñoz and Henry DiStefano.

Here are Raymond's thoughts on the set experience:
"The making of the film has been interesting. For example, we shot multiple scenes within a conference room at a hotel. It was a large room, and it had a seating area, so it could be divided into different parts. Typically, films will look for distinct locations for various scenes, but this was a creative use of a space, and it saved money for the producers.
The production itself has a small crew and so we have lots more freedom in terms of creative choices compared to a larger crew. I felt spoiled when we filmed in a large "club room" atop a modern apartment building because we had so much space to work with. My goal there was to leverage the ambient light as much as possible since the windows were huge. I'm excited to see it all come together in the edit."
